the facts part 2

the average robbery of a service station produced
only $546. if someone robbed a station every
week the take would add up to $28,392 for the year.

in 2003, 413,402 robberies were reported and
over 2 million burglaries were reported.

people who attend church less than once a year
are more than four times more likely than weekly attenders
to have been picked up by the police.

we turn heads

me and sarah took a quick trip to the mall
yesterday to pick something up.
of course when we saw these crazy
leggings we had to try them on.
i wish we bought them.
(i'm not sure why the picture of sarah is so small)
and we saw a maniquinn that was exposing itself.
it made me laugh. :)

family away from home

these are my best friends at school.
(nadia is missing because she's in spain for the semester)
we're silly sometimes.
carley has been like my other half this semester.
we do pretty much everything together. besides showering.
besty is always cheery (which is good cause shes a cheerleader) and silly.
we got a job dog walking together.
sarah loves her abs and is obsessed with taking pictures.
she watches greys and the bachelor with me every week.
i miss nadia a ton, but she's loving spain.
she keeps me sane and makes ridiculous dance videos with me.
when she's here her and carley are my other thirds. :)

sigh no more

it will set you free.

do something. but what?

this was written on the path from my dorm to the library.
at first glance, i expected it to be a fact about poverty
or starvation which would be typical to eastern.
but it wasn't and i'm not really sure what it means.
do something everyday that doesn't make sense?
something away from technology?
i'm not sure.

the chair

this is the chair.
it's my favorite spot in eastern's library.
it's just the right size for me to curl up in
when i have lots of reading to do.
and it's in it's own private corner,
so i don't get distracted.
sometimes it's a little too comfy
and i start to get sleepy.
that's when i know it's time to get out of the chair
and go have a life that
doesn't exist only in the library.

meet mr. casey

this is casey.
he is really, really cute.
and really, really fluffy.
i pretty much love him.
his hobbies are chewing, cuddling,
and of course being cute.

the perfect valentine

God's version of flowers and chocolates and
candlelight dinners comes in the form of sunsets
and falling stars, moonlight on lakes and cricket symphonies;
warm wind, swaying trees, lush gardens, and fierce devotion.

the upside-down kingdom

"the new heroes were the castaways of institutional religion.
they were repentant sinners, publicans, confessing tax collectors,
and harlots. and what of the old heroes- scribes, priests,
Pharisees, and Sudducees- the guardians of sacred ritual?
they now were dethroned, brought low, and told to
become like children. no wonder his message annoyed them.
no wonder they killed him."

the facts

60 million people in africa starve not because there
isn't enough food, but because they can't afford the food.

in the usa 10% of the population is malnourished while
90% is overweight. in india, it's the opposite.

the worlds richest 3 families are worth the 48 most
impoverished countries.
